How to open Ports in Windows server 2008/2012

First of all, Legionhoster does not block any firewall. You have to add an exception in your firewall for the port to make it open if the firewall is enabled.

To open a port in Windows Firewall ( If Enabled )

  1. On the Start menu, click Control Panel.

  2. In Control Panel, click Network and Internet Connections, and then open Windows Firewall.

  3. Turn on the Windows Firewall ( Enable it ).
  4. In Windows Firewall, click the Exceptions tab, and then click Add Port.

  5. In the Add a Port dialog box, in the Name box, type SQL Server<instanceName>.

  6. In the Port number box, type the port number of the Database Engine instance. Use 1433 for the default instance. Type 49172 if you were configuring a named instance and configured a fixed port in the previous task. Verify that TCP is selected, and then click OK.

If you still struggling with this, then you can find more tutorials here: Google Link

I hope this helped you.
